2010 - We thought would be the most exciting year so far. We went with wages for the Teachers. Money to spend on the School. Money to buy new land.
IT WAS TO BRING TOGETHER ALL THE YEARS OF HARD WORK TO DATE.................

DISASTER

There had been no rain since I left in August. All the animals had died. 7,000 cows and Goats starved of food and water had all died. I don't know how the people survived. They had no food for 3 months. There was no seed for planting. The rain still had not come.........They were too weak to plough the ground and there were no cows to pull the ploughs........Everyone was starving..............

Then it rained

and rained                                                                                           and rained

The grass started to grow

BUT ALL THE ANIMALS HAD DIED

Everyone is so thin now; they feel the cold even more.

A new T. shirt to put under your Shouka is always very welcome.

We spent all the money on Emergency food supplies.

A bucket full of maize per family. This will make 2kilos of flour........ The only food in the family- It will have to last for weeks.

 Trying to keep our supplies dry and cook some rice.

The tent washed away

We put the other tent in the classroom. Everyone is cold wet and CLEAN.

Break time at school; every child gets a cup of porridge. The only food they will eat until tomorrow.
