Estelle Aitken, Cork. Ireland. Full time Cab Driver Cork City. I first went to Africa to teach English. The five Maasai here have never been to school. They work as night watchmen 100 miles from their village. they earn a dollar for a twelve hour night shift and have one day off a month to make the 9 hour journey to see their families. Their wives are walking 20miles for water, and their children can't go to school as the nearest one is 10miles away. They are so happy to be in class even if it is outside.

Fantastic View From A tree school, which has to be abandoned if the weather changes, or if the children are needed to herd cattle or plough fields.

Very important day at school. a balloon and her turn to carry the class counting sticks.
